Applicable scenarios

  • 🚀 High flow crude oil pipeline: The flow velocity in the pipeline is >2 m/s, and ordinary corrosion inhibitor films are difficult to adhere to.
  • 🚨 Emergency Corrosion Treatment: The device has abnormal corrosion, and rapid film formation is required to curb the corrosion rate.
  • Large refining main unit: Refineries that require large-scale single processing and require quick results
  • 🌊 Offshore platform pipeline: Seawater·H₂S compound corrosion, extremely high requirements for film formation stability

In-depth analysis: BXH-105 Enhanced oil-soluble imidazoline corrosion inhibitor

In working conditions such as long-distance crude oil pipelines and high-flow gathering and transportation trunk lines, the medium flow rate often exceeds 3 m/s. The protective film formed by ordinary oil-soluble imidazoline corrosion inhibitors will be continuously washed away and peeled off, and the corrosion inhibition efficiency will be significantly reduced. BXH-105 Enhanced oil-soluble imidazoline achieves Fast film formation, strong erosion resistance, specially designed for high flow rates and corrosion emergency conditions.

Why high flow rate requires rapid film formation

The higher the flow rate, the faster the shear peeling of the membrane. The film formation speed of BXH-105 is about 40% faster than that of ordinary BXH-102. It can be quickly rebuilt before the film is washed away to maintain the integrity of the film layer.

BXH-105 vs BXH-102

BXH-105 has a film forming speed 40% faster, can withstand erosion up to 3.5 m/s, and has better low-temperature fluidity (effective content ≥95%, consistent with BXH-102); BXH-102 is suitable for conventional oil phase working conditions. For high flow rate, long-distance transportation, and emergency scenarios, BXH-105 is preferred.

Applicable working conditions and filling

It is suitable for the rapid film construction needs of long-distance crude oil pipelines, high-flow gathering and transportation trunk lines and sudden corrosion. The recommended continuous injection is 15-40 mg/L, which can be adjusted down to the maintenance amount according to corrosion monitoring.

Typical application scenarios

Crude oil long-distance pipeline
High flow velocity >3 m/s working condition

Rapid film formation, anti-scouring, maintaining the integrity of the protective film on the inner wall of long-distance pipelines, and reducing CO₂/H₂S corrosion.

High flow rate gathering and transportation trunk line
Oilfield/refinery gathering and transportation

The flow rate fluctuates greatly, and BXH-105 has a strong ability to quickly replenish the film and adapt to changes in working conditions.

Corrosion emergency rapid film construction
Sudden corrosion of equipment

Establish a protective film in a short period of time to strive for a maintenance window and reduce the risk of perforation.

Technical Q&A

What is the difference between BXH-105 and BXH-102? When should you choose the enhanced version?
Both are oil-soluble imidazolines. BXH-102 is suitable for conventional oil phase corrosion inhibition; BXH-105 has a higher effective content, faster film formation, and is resistant to erosion flow rates up to 3.5 m/s. It is suitable for high flow rate (>3 m/s) long-distance pipelines and emergency conditions that require rapid film construction.
Why are ordinary corrosion inhibitors ineffective in high flow velocity pipelines?
The shear force generated by high flow rate will continue to erode and peel off the protective film. Ordinary corrosion inhibitor film formation is slow and the film is not replenished in time, resulting in local exposed corrosion. The enhanced version uses rapid film formation kinetics to complete the repair before the film is washed away.
What is the recommended filling amount and film formation time of BXH-105?
Continuous injection is recommended at 15–40 mg/L (adjusted according to flow rate and corrosive medium concentration), which can quickly establish a protective film within a few hours. After stabilization, it can be reduced to the maintenance amount based on corrosion monitoring data.
Is enhanced oil-soluble imidazoline suitable for oil fields or refineries?
Both are available. It is used in refineries for high-flow oil phase pipelines and oil transfer lines, and in oil fields for long-distance pipelines and high-flow gathering and transportation trunk lines. It is recommended to choose OEM for high water content and anti-emulsification conditions in oil fields.
