How to select oil-soluble imidazoline corrosion inhibitor? What is the difference between oil-soluble and water-soluble?
The core of selection depends on the phase state of the medium where corrosion occurs: if the corrosion is in the oil phase (inner wall of crude oil pipeline, oil phase stratification interface), select oil solubility (BXH-102); if the corrosion is in the water phase (water-containing cutting fluid), select water solubility (BXH-101). BXH-102 forms a hydrophilic and oleophobic film on the pipe wall after being dissolved in crude oil, blocking the erosion of corrosive water molecules and Cl⁻.
Which corrosion inhibitor should be chosen for crude oil pipelines? How much to add?
For long-distance crude oil pipelines, BXH-102 oil-soluble imidazoline is recommended, with an injection volume of 10–30 mg/L (based on the transmission volume). For high flow rate (>3 m/s) scenarios, it is recommended to upgrade to BXH-105 enhanced type, which has faster film formation speed and stronger erosion resistance.
How to choose corrosion inhibitors for oilfield gathering and transportation pipelines?
Oilfield gathering and transportation pipelines need to pay attention to the moisture content: if the moisture content is <60%, choose BXH-102; if the moisture content is >60%, choose OEM (anti-emulsification type), which has a lower emulsification tendency and does not affect subsequent dehydration treatment.

Oil-soluble imidazoline corrosion inhibitor is one of the most widely used corrosion inhibitor categories in the petrochemical and oil fields. BXH-102 dissolves the imidazoline active component in an organic solvent carrier, injects it into an oil phase medium, and then disperses on its own. It competitively adsorbs on the metal surface, displaces the adsorbed corrosive water molecules, and forms a hydrophobic protective film.
