FAQ

What dosage of BXH-403 is recommended in quenching oil?
0.1%~0.5% by mass, depending on brightness requirements and formulation. Liquid at ambient temperature; blend at 60~75℃ for best uniformity.
How does imidazoline oleate differ from polyisobutylene brighteners?
BXH-403 offers stronger polar displacement of carbonaceous deposits plus N-atom chemisorption for corrosion inhibition. PIB mainly relies on viscosity film-forming without corrosion-inhibiting groups.
Does BXH-403 contain chlorine or phosphorus?
No. It is free of Cl, P and heavy metals, leaves no thermal residue, and does not interfere with subsequent plating or coating.
Other uses besides quenching oil?
Lube oil cleaning, oil/gas gathering corrosion control (20~50 mg/L), pickling and in-process rust prevention. Can be combined with BXH-102.

How BXH-403 Works

During quenching, hot parts (800~900℃) crack hydrocarbons into gums and soot that darken metal surfaces. BXH-403’s imidazoline + oleate polar head competes at the oil–metal interface, displacing carbon residues into the oil phase and forming a dense protective film that also inhibits corrosion.
