When processing high-acid crudes, AVD units face severe naphthenic acid (high-T naphthenic acid + sulfur) corrosion at transfer lines and vacuum tower feed sections above 220°C. Traditional phosphorus-containing high-temperature inhibitors carry phosphorus discharge and downstream catalyst poisoning risks. Daxie Petrochemical needed to validate a phosphorus-free product effective under high-temperature naphthenic acid conditions.
Applied BXH-103 phosphorus-free high-temperature inhibitor (high-molecular surfactant with strong N/O polar groups, decomposition temperature >500°C), forming a passivation film on hot metal surfaces similar to 316/317 stainless steel to inhibit naphthenic acid corrosion. Under Sinopec evaluation conditions (280°C, acid number 12 mgKOH/g), inhibition efficiency reaches industry-leading levels. Soluble in aromatics/diesel, anti-emulsifying, non-clogging injection pumps.
