Corrosion root cause analysis

Crude oil contains HCl (main source: hydrolysis of organic chlorides), H₂S and organic acids. During the distillation process, highly corrosive liquids are formed in the gas phase condensation area at the top of the tower, which is the core control area of ​​the refinery's "one removal and four injections". Typical corrosion rates can reach >1 mm/a, causing frequent heat exchanger leaks and tower top pipeline perforation accidents.

True solution

use BXH-101 Water-soluble corrosion inhibitor Inject wash water at the top of the tower (recommended concentration 20–50 mg/L), with BXH-102 Oil-soluble imidazoline intermediate Inject side-line distillate oil (10–30 mg/L) to form a water phase and oil phase dual-channel protection system. The target corrosion rate is reduced to 0.05–0.10 mm/a (industry excellent level).

2. Phosphorus-free corrosion protection scheme for high-temperature devices

Challenges and pain points

Vacuum residue treatment and high-temperature hydrogenation reactor effluent system (250–320°C) exceed the temperature limit of ordinary imidazoline corrosion inhibitors. At the same time, many provincial parks will implement strict phosphorus content emission standards from 2026, and traditional phosphorus-containing high-temperature corrosion inhibitors face compliance risks.
