Project plan for coker gas oil complexation denitrification to improve FCC feed quality
| Client | Dongying Zhenghang Petrochemical Co., Ltd. |
| Project | Coker gas oil denitrification project plan (May 2026) |
| Process | Non-hydrotreating complexation denitrification · tank farm settling |
| Product | Coker Gas Oil Denitrification Agent |
| Objective | Reduce basic nitrogen in coker gas oil; improve FCC light oil yield |
| Status | Project planning phase |
Coker gas oil basic nitrogen typically exceeds 1000 ppm — 2–3× that of straight-run gas oil. As FCC feed, basic nitrogen preferentially adsorbs on catalyst acid sites, reducing activity, increasing coke yield, and decreasing gasoline/LPG yield. Dongying Zhenghang sought an economical, reliable denitrification process to improve coker gas oil catalytic processing performance.
Benxin prepared a coker gas oil complexation denitrification project plan: 95–105°C coker gas oil from the delayed coker is mixed with denitrification agent via static mixer, then held in a denitrification settling tank for 24–48 hours. Denitrified oil is drawn from mid-upper layer; nitrogen complex derivatives discharged from tank bottom. Atmospheric operation, low investment, no hydrogen required; simultaneous metals and Conradson carbon reduction.
